Supraphysiologic Levels

Meaning

Supraphysiologic Levels refer to the concentration of an endogenous substance, such as a hormone or a metabolite, that significantly exceeds the highest concentration naturally achieved within the human body under normal homeostatic conditions. While often used intentionally in pharmacological settings to elicit a powerful therapeutic effect, these levels can also result from pathology or misuse of exogenous compounds. Clinically, maintaining hormone concentrations within the optimal physiologic range is a central tenet of responsible endocrine practice.
