Subcutaneous Pellets

Meaning

Subcutaneous pellets are small, compressed implants containing bioidentical hormones, such as testosterone or estradiol, that are inserted beneath the skin, typically in the hip or buttocks area. This method provides a sustained, continuous release of the hormone directly into the bloodstream over several months, often three to six. The pellet delivery system advantageously bypasses the digestive system and liver, resulting in stable, physiological hormone levels without the undesirable peaks and troughs associated with other administration routes.
