Subclinical Dysfunction Identification

Meaning

The clinical and diagnostic process of detecting subtle, early-stage physiological or biochemical abnormalities that do not yet meet the established diagnostic criteria for overt disease but still compromise optimal health and well-being. In the endocrine context, this includes detecting mild HPA axis blunting, early insulin resistance, or marginal thyroid hormone conversion issues. Identification at this stage allows for preventative and restorative intervention before pathology becomes entrenched.
