Sub-Optimal Physiological States

Meaning

Sub-Optimal Physiological States describe conditions where an individual’s biological systems are functioning below their ideal, genetically-determined potential, leading to vague symptoms, reduced resilience, and increased susceptibility to chronic disease, even when conventional lab markers fall within broad “normal” reference ranges. In endocrinology, this often manifests as subtle, chronic hormonal dysregulation, such as low-normal thyroid function or chronic mild hypercortisolemia. These states precede overt pathology.
