Sub-Optimal Biomarkers

Meaning

Sub-Optimal Biomarkers are quantifiable physiological or biochemical indicators, measured in blood, saliva, or urine, that fall within the statistically “normal” laboratory reference range but are not positioned within the narrower, more desirable range associated with peak health, vitality, and reduced long-term disease risk. These markers signal a state of functional insufficiency or impending decline, even in the absence of overt pathology. Identifying and correcting sub-optimal biomarkers is the primary focus of preventative and optimization medicine. They represent a window of opportunity for intervention.
