Stress Resilience

Meaning

Stress Resilience is the physiological capacity of an individual to maintain or rapidly return to homeostatic balance following exposure to acute or chronic stressors, particularly those impacting the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis. It reflects an efficient and well-regulated stress response, avoiding maladaptive patterns of chronic cortisol elevation or blunted adrenal output. Building resilience is fundamental to long-term hormonal health and metabolic stability. It is the measure of our internal adaptive robustness.
