Stress Hormone Attenuation

Meaning

Stress Hormone Attenuation is the clinical goal of moderating the prolonged, elevated activity of the HPA axis mediators, primarily cortisol and catecholamines, in response to chronic psychosocial or physiological stressors. Effective attenuation prevents the sustained catabolic and immunosuppressive effects of chronic stress exposure. We seek to restore HPA axis flexibility.
