Strength Density

Meaning

A measure of physical performance that integrates the amount of force an individual can generate (strength) relative to their lean body mass or specific muscle cross-sectional area (density). This metric provides a more functionally relevant assessment of muscle quality and neuromuscular efficiency than absolute strength or body mass alone. High strength density is a robust biomarker of metabolic health, resilience, and resistance to frailty.
