Stem Cell Mobilization

Meaning

The physiological or pharmacological process of inducing the release of endogenous progenitor cells, particularly mesenchymal and hematopoietic stem cells, from their quiescent niches, such as the bone marrow, into the peripheral circulation. This mobilization is a natural repair mechanism, allowing these regenerative cells to migrate to sites of tissue injury or age-related degeneration to facilitate repair and regeneration. It is a key target for longevity interventions and tissue maintenance.
