STAT5B Signaling Pathway

Meaning

The STAT5B Signaling Pathway is a critical intracellular communication cascade primarily activated by the binding of Growth Hormone, or GH, to its receptor on the cell surface. STAT5B, which stands for Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 5B, is a transcription factor that, upon activation, translocates to the cell nucleus to regulate the expression of specific genes. This pathway is essential for mediating the anabolic, metabolic, and immunomodulatory effects of GH, including the production of Insulin-like Growth Factor 1, or IGF-1, in the liver.
