Stable Heart Failure

Meaning

Stable Heart Failure refers to a chronic clinical condition where a patient with a confirmed diagnosis of heart failure is currently experiencing minimal or no changes in symptoms and signs of fluid overload, and their cardiac function remains consistent over a defined period. This status is achieved through consistent medical therapy and lifestyle management, allowing the patient to maintain a relatively stable level of functional capacity. While the underlying cardiac dysfunction persists, the stability indicates that the neurohormonal compensatory mechanisms are adequately controlled by treatment, minimizing the risk of acute decompensation. Maintaining this stability is the primary goal of long-term cardiovascular management.
