Spermatozoa Integrity

Meaning

Spermatozoa Integrity is a critical clinical concept referring to the overall health, structural soundness, and full functional capacity of the mature male reproductive cell, the sperm. This integrity is assessed by evaluating multiple crucial parameters, including normal morphology (the correct structure of the head, midpiece, and tail), optimal progressive motility (the ability to move forward efficiently), and most importantly, the genetic integrity of the DNA payload contained within the sperm head. Compromised integrity in any of these domains is a primary and common cause of male factor infertility and diminished reproductive outcomes.
