Spermatogenesis Recovery

Meaning

Spermatogenesis recovery is the clinical process of restoring the production of viable sperm within the testes following a period of iatrogenic suppression, most commonly induced by exogenous testosterone administration in Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT). This recovery involves the re-establishment of the normal pulsatile release of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland, which are essential for testicular function. The successful outcome is the return of a clinically significant sperm count and motility, enabling natural fertility.
