Spermatogenesis Induction

Meaning

The clinical process of initiating or significantly enhancing the production and maturation of spermatozoa (sperm) within the seminiferous tubules of the testes, typically employed to treat male infertility caused by hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. This therapeutic strategy relies on the strategic administration of exogenous gonadotropins, such as Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH), to mimic the natural pituitary signals. Successful induction is defined by the appearance of viable sperm in the ejaculate.
