Spermatogenesis Cycle

Meaning

The Spermatogenesis Cycle is the highly organized, continuous biological process occurring within the seminiferous tubules of the testes, where diploid spermatogonial stem cells differentiate into mature, haploid, motile spermatozoa. This complex process involves three main phases: mitotic proliferation, meiotic division, and spermiogenesis, requiring precise hormonal and cellular coordination. The cycle ensures the continuous production of male gametes essential for fertility and takes approximately 64 days to complete in humans.
