Sperm sncRNA

Meaning

Sperm small non-coding RNAs, often abbreviated as sncRNAs, represent a diverse class of RNA molecules found within mature spermatozoa that do not encode proteins. These molecules are typically less than 200 nucleotides in length and include categories such as microRNAs (miRNAs), PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs), and transfer RNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs), each playing distinct regulatory roles.
