Spatial Reasoning

Meaning

Spatial Reasoning is the complex cognitive ability to understand, reason about, and remember the spatial relations among objects in the environment, including the precise positioning of one’s own body in space. This function is mediated primarily by the parietal lobe and hippocampus and is intimately linked to navigation, non-verbal problem-solving, and visual-motor coordination. Optimized spatial reasoning is a hallmark of robust neurocognitive health and is often highly sensitive to fluctuations in key hormonal levels.
