Somatotropic Hormone Pulsatility

Meaning

Somatotropic Hormone Pulsatility describes the characteristic, intermittent release pattern of Growth Hormone (GH), also known as somatotropin, from the anterior pituitary gland. Rather than being released continuously, GH is secreted in discrete, high-amplitude bursts throughout the day and night, a pattern essential for its anabolic and metabolic functions. Attenuation of this pulsatility is a key feature of somatopause, or age-related GH decline.
