Somatopause Mitigation Tactics

Meaning

Somatopause Mitigation Tactics are clinical interventions specifically designed to counteract the age-related decline in the pulsatile secretion of growth hormone (GH) and the resulting reduction in circulating insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) levels, a condition known as somatopause. These tactics are employed to prevent or reverse the associated catabolic effects, including decreased lean body mass, increased visceral adiposity, reduced bone mineral density, and diminished quality of life. The goal is to restore the integrity of the somatotropic axis.
