Somatopause Mitigation

Meaning

The preventative or restorative strategy focused on slowing the rate and reducing the negative functional consequences of the age-related decline in growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) secretion, known as somatopause. Mitigation is a less aggressive approach than full correction, emphasizing the use of lifestyle factors, targeted nutritional support, and mild secretagogues to preserve the somatotropic axis function. This intervention is a key component of anti-aging and longevity protocols.
