Somatic Resource Allocation

Meaning

Somatic Resource Allocation is the continuous, hormonally regulated process by which the body strategically distributes limited metabolic energy and material resources, such as glucose, amino acids, and fatty acids, among competing physiological demands. These demands include immediate survival, immune function, reproduction, tissue repair, and basal metabolism. This allocation is a critical, dynamic factor in determining whether the body operates in an anabolic state of growth and repair or a catabolic state of breakdown and energy mobilization.
