Sleep Disruption

Meaning

Sleep Disruption refers to any interruption or alteration in the normal architecture and continuity of sleep stages, which critically impairs restorative physiological processes. This often manifests as reduced Slow-Wave Sleep or REM latency issues, directly interfering with the nocturnal pulses of growth hormone and the resetting of the HPA axis. Chronic disruption is a significant endocrine disruptor.
