Skeletal-Related Events

Meaning

Skeletal-Related Events, often abbreviated as SREs, denote serious complications affecting bone integrity that arise in patients with advanced malignancies, particularly those where cancer has spread to the bone. These adverse occurrences include pathological fractures, which are breaks occurring in weakened bone, spinal cord compression, necessitating urgent intervention, and the requirement for radiation therapy or surgical procedures specifically to address bone lesions or associated pain.
