Skeletal-Related Events

Meaning

A specific set of clinically significant adverse outcomes affecting the skeletal system, typically defined in the context of advanced malignancies that metastasize to the bone or conditions that severely compromise bone integrity. These events include pathological fractures, spinal cord compression, the need for bone radiation or surgery, and severe hypercalcemia requiring intervention. In hormonal health, this term is particularly relevant in hormone-sensitive cancers, such as breast and prostate cancer, where therapies can either cause bone loss or, conversely, where bone-targeting agents are used to prevent these serious complications.
