SHBG Titration

Meaning

SHBG Titration is the clinical process of precisely adjusting therapeutic interventions, often hormonal or nutritional, to achieve a desired concentration of Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) in the bloodstream. This titration is a critical strategy because SHBG controls the amount of biologically active, or “free,” sex hormones, such as testosterone and estradiol, available to target tissues. The goal is to optimize the free hormone index for maximal physiological benefit.
