Sexual Interest Disorder

Meaning

Sexual Interest Disorder, previously known as Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, is characterized by a persistent or recurrent deficiency or complete absence of sexual fantasies and desire for sexual activity, which causes significant personal distress to the individual. This clinical condition is distinct from a transient decrease in sexual interest and is not better explained by another mental disorder, severe relationship distress, or the effects of a substance or another medical condition.
