Serum Levels

Meaning

Serum Levels refer to the measurable concentration of a specific endogenous or exogenous substance, such as a hormone, protein, electrolyte, or therapeutic drug, found within the serum component of the blood. Serum is the acellular, protein-rich fluid remaining after blood coagulation and the removal of cellular elements. The measurement of these circulating levels is a primary diagnostic and monitoring tool in clinical endocrinology, providing a quantitative assessment of the systemic availability and exposure to key biological molecules.
