Self-Regulation Thresholds

Meaning

Self-Regulation Thresholds are the measurable physiological and psychological limits beyond which an individual’s capacity for executive control, emotional stability, and homeostatic maintenance begins to significantly degrade. These thresholds are highly sensitive to chronic stress, sleep deprivation, and hormonal imbalances, such as sustained high cortisol or inadequate thyroid function. Identifying and respecting these personal thresholds is a clinical goal for preventing burnout, cognitive impairment, and the subsequent cascade of endocrine dysfunction.
