Secondary Hypogonadism

Meaning

Secondary Hypogonadism is a clinical state characterized by deficient testosterone production resulting from a failure in the upstream signaling from the pituitary or hypothalamus, rather than a primary testicular defect. This condition is marked by low circulating testosterone accompanied by inappropriately low or normal gonadotropin levels, specifically LH and FSH. Correct diagnosis is essential to target the root cause within the HPG axis.
