Screen Time Chronodisruption

Meaning

The measurable disturbance of the body’s intrinsic circadian rhythms, or chronobiology, caused by the inappropriate timing, duration, or spectral quality of light exposure associated with digital screen use. This disruption is a form of non-toxicological endocrine disruption that desynchronizes the internal biological clock from the external environment. Clinically, it is a significant contributor to sleep disorders, metabolic dysregulation, and hormonal imbalance.
