Rotterdam Criteria

Meaning

The Rotterdam Criteria represent a widely accepted diagnostic framework for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), requiring the presence of at least two out of three specific clinical features for diagnosis. These features include oligo- or anovulation, clinical or biochemical evidence of hyperandrogenism, and polycystic ovarian morphology identified through ultrasound examination. Crucially, other endocrine disorders mimicking these symptoms must first be systematically excluded, ensuring diagnostic accuracy for this prevalent hormonal condition.
