Restoration Protocols

Meaning

Restoration Protocols are structured, evidence-based intervention plans meticulously designed to guide a dysfunctional physiological system back toward its optimal, homeostatic functional capacity. In hormonal health, these protocols are most frequently applied to the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis or the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis following periods of chronic stress, illness, or iatrogenic suppression. The goal is not merely to suppress symptoms but to restore the endogenous regulatory mechanisms and signaling feedback loops that govern the system’s independent function. A successful restoration protocol results in a durable, self-regulating physiological state.
