Restless Legs Syndrome

Meaning

Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), also known as Willis-Ekbom disease, is a common neurological disorder characterized by an irresistible urge to move the legs, typically accompanied by uncomfortable sensations, often described as crawling or tingling. Symptoms are classically worse during periods of rest and in the evening or night, significantly disrupting sleep and leading to chronic sleep insufficiency. In the hormonal health space, RLS is often observed or exacerbated during pregnancy and in conditions involving iron deficiency, highlighting a potential endocrine and metabolic link.
