Resilience Capacity Measurement

Meaning

Resilience capacity measurement is the quantitative clinical assessment of an individual’s physiological and psychological ability to withstand, recover from, and adapt to significant physical, metabolic, or emotional stressors. This measurement moves beyond traditional disease diagnostics to evaluate the functional reserve and adaptive range of key regulatory systems, including the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and the autonomic nervous system. Low resilience capacity is a significant predictor of vulnerability to chronic disease and accelerated aging. The goal of this measurement is to provide an objective metric for guiding interventions aimed at increasing systemic robustness.
