Reproductive Impairment

Meaning

Reproductive impairment is a broad clinical term defining any condition or state that reduces or eliminates the biological capacity of an individual or couple to successfully achieve conception, sustain a pregnancy, or deliver a live birth. This dysfunction can manifest as issues with gamete quality, ovulatory regularity, uterine receptivity, or male factor issues. In the context of hormonal health, impairment is frequently linked to endocrine disorders, such as polycystic ovary syndrome, or exposure to environmental endocrine disruptors that interfere with the finely tuned reproductive axis.
