Reproductive Health

Meaning

Reproductive health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being in all matters relating to the reproductive system, its functions, and processes, extending beyond the mere absence of disease or infirmity. It encompasses the ability to have a satisfying and safe sex life, the capability to reproduce, and the freedom to decide if, when, and how often to do so. Optimal reproductive health is inextricably linked to the precise regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis and the balanced function of sex hormones.
