Reproductive Axis Modulation

Meaning

Reproductive Axis Modulation is the clinical process of strategically adjusting the signaling activity within the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) axis to restore or optimize reproductive and sex hormone function. This therapeutic approach may involve stimulating or suppressing the release of hormones like GnRH, LH, and FSH to regulate ovarian or testicular output of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. The goal is to address conditions such as infertility, hypogonadism, or peri-menopausal symptoms by re-establishing a functional endocrine balance.
