Renal Infarction

Meaning

Renal Infarction is a serious clinical event characterized by the irreversible necrosis, or tissue death, of a segment of the kidney parenchyma due to an acute and critical interruption of its arterial blood supply. This condition is typically caused by an embolism that occludes a major renal artery or one of its branches. Prompt diagnosis is crucial due to the potential for permanent loss of renal function and systemic complications.
