Regenerative Bandwidth

Meaning

Regenerative Bandwidth is a conceptual metric representing the physiological capacity of an organism to repair damage, restore cellular function, and maintain tissue homeostasis in the face of cumulative stress and aging. It is a measure of the body’s intrinsic ability to rebound from injury, exercise, or illness, largely driven by the efficiency of stem cell function, mitochondrial health, and anabolic hormonal signaling. A diminished regenerative bandwidth is a key characteristic of biological aging, manifesting as slower wound healing and reduced adaptation to training. Clinical strategies in longevity medicine aim to expand this bandwidth.
