Recovery Quality

Meaning

Recovery Quality refers to the depth and efficacy of physiological restoration achieved during periods outside of high demand, specifically assessing the restoration of hormonal balance, nervous system regulation, and cellular repair processes. High quality recovery is objectively measurable through improved Heart Rate Variability (HRV) metrics and normalized overnight hormone secretion, such as growth hormone pulses. Poor quality recovery leaves residual systemic fatigue and elevated baseline cortisol, diminishing subsequent performance capacity. This metric is arguably more predictive of long-term health than acute performance metrics alone.
