Randomized Clinical Trials

Meaning

Randomized Clinical Trials, commonly known as RCTs, represent a robust research methodology where human participants are assigned by chance to receive one of several interventions, including a new treatment, a standard treatment, or a placebo. This random assignment minimizes bias, creating groups that are statistically comparable at baseline regarding both known and unknown factors, thereby allowing for a clearer assessment of cause-and-effect relationships between the intervention and observed health outcomes.
