Qi Circulation

Meaning

Qi Circulation is a foundational, non-biochemical concept within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), describing the continuous, dynamic flow of Qi, or vital life force energy, throughout the body along a network of pathways known as meridians. Optimal and balanced Qi circulation is considered paramount for sustaining health, maintaining the harmonious relationship between the internal organ systems, and supporting the body’s intrinsic ability to heal. Pathological states, including those related to hormonal and metabolic dysfunction, are often interpreted as patterns of Qi deficiency, stagnation, or rebellious flow.
