Protein and Hormones

Meaning

Proteins and hormones are fundamental biomolecules governing cellular communication and systemic regulation. Proteins are complex macromolecules of amino acid chains, serving structural, enzymatic, and transport roles; many hormones are themselves proteins or peptides. Hormones function as chemical messengers, secreted by endocrine glands into the bloodstream, targeting distant cells to elicit specific physiological responses. Their coordinated action orchestrates nearly every bodily process.
