Prostate Glandular Structure

Meaning

The prostate glandular structure refers to the numerous small, compound tubuloalveolar glands embedded within the fibromuscular stroma of the prostate organ. These glandular units, also known as acini, are lined by a bilayer of epithelial cells, including basal cells and secretory luminal cells, which are responsible for producing prostatic fluid. This fluid constitutes a significant component of seminal plasma, contributing to sperm viability and motility.
