Prostate Gland

Meaning

The Prostate Gland is a walnut-sized exocrine gland unique to the male reproductive system, situated inferior to the urinary bladder, encircling the initial segment of the urethra. Its primary physiological role is the secretion of seminal fluid components that nourish and transport sperm. This gland is highly sensitive to androgenic hormones, particularly testosterone and its more potent derivative, dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
