Prostate Cancer

Meaning

Prostate Cancer is a malignancy arising in the prostate gland, a small, walnut-sized organ in men responsible for producing seminal fluid. This is a hormonally sensitive cancer, meaning its growth and progression are often dependent on the presence of androgens, primarily testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Clinical management often involves monitoring and, in advanced stages, hormonal manipulation to slow disease progression.
