Progesterone Co-Administration

Meaning

Progesterone Co-Administration is the established clinical practice of simultaneously prescribing progesterone alongside another therapeutic agent, most notably estrogen in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for women who possess an intact uterus. This concurrent use is primarily a critical safety measure, providing essential endometrial protection against the proliferative and potentially malignant effects of unopposed estrogen. Beyond safety, it is also utilized to leverage the synergistic or balancing effects of progesterone on mood, sleep quality, and bone health.
