Process Validation

Meaning

Process validation is a rigorous, systematic, and documented approach used in the pharmaceutical and compounding industries to establish a high degree of assurance that a specific manufacturing process consistently produces a product meeting its predetermined quality attributes and specifications. This is a regulatory requirement for ensuring the final product’s identity, strength, quality, purity, and safety, which is especially critical in clinical compounding. The ultimate goal is to prove that quality is built into the process itself, rather than being merely tested for in the final product.
