Priority Review

Meaning

Priority Review is a specific designation granted by regulatory bodies, such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), to a New Drug Application (NDA) or Biologics License Application (BLA) for pharmaceuticals. This status is reserved for drugs that offer a significant improvement in the safety or effectiveness of treatment for a serious condition compared to existing therapies, or for drugs that address an unmet medical need. It signifies an expedited regulatory pathway.
