Prehabilitation

Meaning

Prehabilitation is a proactive clinical strategy that involves optimizing a patient’s physical, nutritional, and psychological health in the period between a medical diagnosis and the commencement of a planned surgical or invasive medical procedure. The goal is to enhance the patient’s functional capacity, often termed “physiologic reserve,” to withstand the stress of the impending intervention and accelerate post-operative recovery. Within the hormonal health space, this often includes targeted nutritional support and hormonal optimization before major gynecological or endocrine surgery.
