Prefrontal Cortex Modulation

Meaning

Prefrontal Cortex Modulation refers to the clinical influence exerted over the function of the prefrontal cortex (PFC), the brain region governing executive functions like planning, decision-making, and working memory. This modulation is highly relevant in hormonal health because PFC activity is acutely sensitive to fluctuations in glucocorticoids, sex steroids, and thyroid hormone status. Effective modulation aims to optimize PFC efficiency, which often declines under conditions of chronic HPA axis dysregulation or hypoestrogenism. We are tuning the brain’s executive control center.
